Jessie Potter is a California native currently residing in Austin, Texas. As a self-taught artist, Jessie has cultivated a deep passion for creative expression, using her work as a bridge to connect with others on a profound emotional and spiritual level. Her art is a testament to the resilience of the human spirit, blending vibrant acrylics on canvas to capture the beauty, hope, and strength that emerge from life's struggles and uncertainties.
With a natural gift for encouragement, Jessie's paintings reflect her belief in the transformative power of faith. Through each brushstroke, she highlights the inner strength we all possess and the hopeful anticipation of what the future holds. A devoted mother to three wonderful children and married to her childhood sweetheart for 17 years, Jessie’s family is at the heart of everything she does. Her art is not only a reflection of her own experiences but also a celebration of the connections she shares with those she loves. Through her creative process, she hopes to inspire others to find their own strength, hope, and purpose in the midst of life’s beautiful chaos.
STATEMENT
My art is a reflection of the ebb and flow of life, capturing the full spectrum of human emotions. from the depths of sorrow and grief to the heights of joy and transcendence. Inspired by intimate moments of stillness, reflection, and movement each piece expresses the sacred journey of the human spirits as it navigates the complexities of emotions, experiences, and connection. My inspiration emerges from moments of intimate communion with God. I long to see God experienced in every painting and revealed through the creative arts.
Working primarily with acrylic, I use this versatile medium to explore texture, layering, and color, allowing each piece to unfold organically. Through every brushstroke, I seek to evoke powerful emotions and stir deep, personal connections within the viewer. My work is not merely pigment on a canvas, but it is a story, a visual language that tells the raw, unspoken stories of what it means to means to be human in the presence of the divine. It is through this the process of creativity, I give voice to the inner world, creating art that resonates with the soul and speaks to the human experience.
My goal is for my paintings to serve as both a mirror and a refuge—inviting viewers to confront their own emotions while offering a source of comfort, peace, and inspiration. In doing so, I hope to remind others of life’s inherent beauty, no matter the challenges we face, and to create space where they can connect with their journey of healing and grace.
Chaos Into Beauty
In 2014, my husband and I, along with our three children, left everything we knew and loved in search of a new begining in Texas. We had big dreams, hearts full of hope, and a clear plan for what life would look like. Two years later, we found ourselves financially, relationally, and emotionally broken. In the midst of my disappointment, confusion, and hopelessness, I came face to face with my limits and found myself at the end of my strength.
It was in this broken place that I began my journey toward emotional, mental, and spiritual health. As I sought healing, I turned to creative expression through abstract painting. It became a safe place—a sanctuary where I could process my emotions and thoughts. Here, I brought my raw, unfiltered feelings to an even bigger God, allowing Him to meet me right where I was. This creative expression became the key to my breakthroughs and healing, as I learned to receive His love and to hear His voice in deeper, more intimate ways.
With no restrictions or boundaries, I discovered the purest form of freedom. I learned to lean into the chaos of life and, through that process, uncover the beauty of healing and the awakening of my faith through prophetic painting. What was once an overwhelming storm of emotions became an opportunity to create, heal, and be renewed.
As I walked through this journey of health, rediscovering my identity in Christ, the desire to help others through this same process grew. And in 2022, Chaos Into Beauty was born.
Much like Pauls handkerchiefs that brought breakthroughs and healing, I believe these paintings carry the same. Each painting is intentionally created with the purpose of transforming environments, imparting life, and releasing blessings. They are not just art—they are a bridge of spiritual healing and prophetic encouragement.
Through every piece I create, I listen to God's heart and share what I hear with you. Each painting comes with an encouraging prophetic word, designed to bless and uplift, spreading a little more love and light into the world.
Chaos Into Beauty is not just a name; it's a testament to God's ability to take the brokenness and mess of our lives and turn it into something beautiful. And I believe that as you receive these paintings, you too will experience the same transformation in your life.
